Glen Affric Estate is situated in the Scottish Highlands, near Cannich, about an hour’s drive from Inverness.
Can I book just one room?
No. Glen Affric is offered exclusively on a private hire basis, meaning the entire estate is reserved for one group at a time, whether for 2 or up to 24 guests.
Is Glen Affric Estate open to the public?
The estate itself is privately owned, but Glen Affric National Nature Reserve, which surrounds it, has public access for walkers and nature lovers.
Accommodation & facilities
What is the maximum number of guests that can be accommodated?
Glen Affric Estate can accommodate up to 24 guests. This is split between The Estate Lodge – 7 double bedrooms, The Green House – 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom and White Cottage – 2 double bedrooms.
How far are The Green House, White Cottage and the Grill Room from The Estate Lodge?
All three facilities are approximately a 4-minute walk from The Estate Lodge, making them easily accessible for guests who may need additional accommodation nearby or a convenient dining option.
Can you organise childcare?
Yes, babysitting services can be arranged upon request.

What activities can I do at Glen Affric Estate?
Please note that all activities are only available as part of the private hire. Guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor and leisure activities, including:
- Hiking & hill walking
- Fishing (salmon fishing is permitted on a catch-and-release basis)
- Wildlife watching (red deer, golden eagles, pine martens, otters)
- Clay pigeon shooting

Is fishing allowed at Glen Affric Estate?
Yes, fishing is available on the estate’s loch and river. Trout fishing is permitted on the loch and anglers may keep their catch; while salmon fishing is available on the river but is strictly catch-and-release only. Prior booking may be required.
How much is stalking?
Stalking is available for up to four guests at a time. The cost varies depending on the season and specific requirements. Please contact us for pricing details. We do not have grouse or pheasant shooting; however, partridge shooting is available.
Can I book just the spa for the day?
The Rock Spa is reserved exclusively for guests staying at Glen Affric Estate as part of the private hire experience. A treatment menu is available upon request, with massages and beauty treatments arranged in advance with our local therapists.
Food & drink
What food and drink is included in the price?
All food and drink are included in the overall estate fee, except for an enhanced wine list, which is available at an additional supplement.
Glen Affric Estate offers a highly skilled, professional chef who provides bespoke fine dining experiences and can cater to a wide range of dietary requirements. Please note, the estate is fully staffed, and self-catering is not permitted.
Travel & accessibility
How do I get to Glen Affric Estate?
The estate is accessible by car from Inverness. The nearest village is Cannich, and the nearest train station is in Inverness. We can also organise transfers from Scottish airports.
Can a helicopter land on the estate?
Yes, helicopter landings can be arranged on the estate.
Where is the nearest shop?
The nearest village shop is in Cannich, approximately a 25-minute drive from the estate. For larger supermarkets, Inverness is the closest city with more extensive shopping options.

What is the maximum size for a wedding?
There is a maximum capacity of 24 guests. Please note we do not provide in-house wedding planners or a recommended list of specialists. However, we are happy to work with your chosen event planners. Larger events can be discussed with the team directly.
